Laboratory Freezer Monitor Alarm Backup System with Either Liquid Carbon Dioxide Backup Injection OR Liquid Nitrogen Backup Injection Feature:

Models CA 5000 and CA 5000 N

Hampshire Controls Corporation's Model CA5000 Series Freezer Monitor Alarm Backup Systems are unique laboratory monitor and alarm devices that incorporate both field-proven, ultra-reliable freezer monitoring alarm capabilities with the unique ability to backup freezers in case of coolant leaks by injecting freezers with EITHER liquid carbon dioxide OR liquid nitrogen - in order to maintain laboratory freezer temperature. Either the liquid carbon dioxide or liquid nitrogen injection versions (model CA 5000 with CO2 injection and model CA 5000 N with liquid nitrogen injection) provide laboratories with an important additional level of safety when storing sensitive samples in their research freezers - since they "must" be maintained at specific ultra-low temperatures.

Model CA 5000 and CA S000 N Freezer Monitor Alarm Backup Systems offer user-programmable temperature alarm and control set-points (as well as the setting of different alarm delay times).  All operating parameters are stored in non-volatile memory, and thus are maintained even when power is lost.

The customer supplied liquid carbon dioxide or liquid nitrogen is maintained at high pressure; ready to be injected into the freezer should a malfunction occur (an alarm condition). This unique feature eliminates the warming of laboratory samples. Should a freezer coolant loss occur, the systems sense this, and a pre-determined amount of liquid carbon dioxide or liquid nitrogen is injected into the freezer to compensate for the loss of primary coolant - maintaining the freezers correct operation and protecting sensitive laboratory samples until the freezer is serviced.

The CA 5000 and CA 5000 N Freezer Alarm Monitor Backup Systems are simple to operate. Just plug the in, place the probe in the freezer to be monitored, and the display will show the temperature of that location.  Pushing three buttons allows the user to program various alarm set points as well as the additional protection. It's that simple - and THAT effective.

CA5000 Series Freezer Monitor Backup and Injection System Features:

* Internal battery with integrated charger - that keeps the system running for at least 24 hours after a power outage.
* "BAT" indicator that warns of a disconnected or low backup battery condition.
* Liquid Carbon Dioxide (CA 5000) version: Backup time is a minimum of 8 hours on one standard cylinder of CO2 at -60 °C set point.
* Liquid Nitrogen (CA5000 N) Version: Backup time of approximately 48 hours using one 65 liter cylinder of nitrogen at a -65 °C set point.
* User-programmable controls for freezer monitor alarm and for either injection system.
* Visible and audible indicators of system status.
* Multiple programmable monitor alarms - to minimize nuisance or false alarms.
* Relay outputs for central alarm systems or automatic dialers.
* A door safety interlock switch prevents gas injection while freezer is being accessed.
