Unplanned or uncontrolled changes in temperature can quickly compromise products, research, equipment, and inventory. Hampshire Controls manufactures temperature alarm systems that continuously monitor critical environments and alert personnel whenever temperatures fall or rise outside user-defined limits. These monitoring solutions help organizations respond quickly to changing conditions, reducing the risk of product loss, equipment damage, and costly downtime.
Our temperature monitoring systems are used across laboratories, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical operations, food storage, manufacturing plants, and research environments where accurate temperature monitoring is part of daily operations. With flexible configurations, multiple probe options, and integration capabilities, Hampshire Controls provides dependable monitoring solutions for a wide range of applications.
Temperature Monitor & Alarm Solutions for Multiple Applications
Different industries have different monitoring requirements. Hampshire Controls offers temperature monitoring systems that can be configured for single or multiple temperature probe locations, giving facilities the flexibility to monitor everything from one refrigerator to an entire laboratory or production area.
Medical and healthcare facilities depend on continuous monitoring to protect vaccines, blood products, tissue samples, and pharmaceuticals stored under controlled temperatures. Laboratories rely on temperature monitoring for incubators, environmental chambers, dewars and other cryogenic storage containers, laboratory refrigerators, and ultra-low temperature freezers where stable temperature conditions are critical to ongoing research.
Food processors, commercial kitchens, and distribution centers use Hampshire Controls systems to monitor walk-in coolers, freezers, cold storage rooms, and refrigerated storage areas. An industrial freezer monitor with alarm provides immediate notification whenever temperatures exceed acceptable limits, helping reduce spoilage and protect inventory.
Industrial facilities also benefit from continuous temperature monitoring in manufacturing processes, environmental test chambers, server rooms, chemical storage, and other controlled environments where temperature stability supports daily operations.
Whether you need a compact monitor for a single refrigerator or a multi-probe system capable of monitoring several locations simultaneously, Hampshire Controls offers monitoring solutions that fit your application.
Common applications include:
- Medical refrigerators and vaccine storage
- Blood banks and clinical laboratories
- Research facilities and environmental chambers
- Food storage, walk-in coolers, and freezers
- Industrial manufacturing and chemical storage
- Server rooms and controlled environments
Features Designed for Reliable Temperature Monitoring
Hampshire Controls temperature monitors continuously track temperatures and compare readings against user-defined high and low alarm limits. If temperatures fall or rise outside the programmed range, the system immediately activates visual alarms while configurable delays can be applied to audio and relay outputs where appropriate.
Available features differ by model and include variable temperature ranges and probe types; relay contacts for building alarm and other alert notification systems.; battery backup; adjustable temperature scale ([degree symbol]C, [degree symbol]F, etc.); display and output resolution (1 [degree symbol], 0.1 [degree symbol], etc.); 4 – 20 mA current output; voltage output; digital output (RS-232 or RS-485); passcode protected setpoints; Ethernet connectivity; and data logging compatibility. NIST-traceable certificates of calibration are available upon request.
Facilities monitoring multiple storage units can choose multi-probe systems that independently monitor several temperature probe locations using a single multi-probe monitoring system. This simplifies monitoring while providing operators immediate visibility into each monitored area.
Alarm Notification & Building System Integration
Rapid alert notifications allow personnel to respond before temperature excursions become costly. Hampshire Controls provides multiple alarm methods through an integrated alarm notification system that support the requirements of any application or facility.
Temperature monitors include audible alarms of approximately 90 dB, flashing LED indicators, and relay outputs for external alarm activation. MPS Multi-Probe Systems also support email alerts and push notifications through compatible third-party applications, helping personnel stay informed even when away from the monitored area.
For facilities using centralized monitoring platforms, Hampshire Controls supports standard 4–20 mA analog temperature output, allowing monitor data to be shared with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Laboratory Management Systems (LMS). Within this standard, 4 mA represents the user-defined low temperature while 20 mA represents the user-defined high temperature, with output scaling proportionally between those values.
Depending on the application, temperature data can also be transmitted through voltage output, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, or USB connections.
The built-in relays serve as dry-contact switches capable of activating building alarm systems, laboratory alarms, horn and strobe indicators, and compatible security monitoring equipment. Applications requiring higher-current switching can use an appropriately rated pilot-duty relay between the monitor and the controlled equipment.
Custom Temperature Monitoring Solutions
Many temperature monitoring applications require features that differ from those of our standard products. Hampshire Controls manufactures customized temperature monitoring systems for OEM customers across pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage processing, water quality, clinical laboratories, and industrial markets.
Customization options may include alternate probe types, expanded temperature ranges, longer factory-installed probe cables, different output methods (current, voltage, digital, etc.), OEM branding, and private-label manufacturing. This flexibility allows customers to integrate Hampshire Controls monitoring technology into specialized equipment while maintaining consistent performance across their operations.
